Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to see a Therapist?

Have you been experiencing distress in your life? Do you feel like you’ve tried everything you know with not much progress? Are your friends, family, or colleagues telling you something seems off? If so, therapy may be helpful. Schedule a free 15 minute session and decide if this is right for you.

What is your therapeutic style?

Southeast Perinatal Counseling believes that sometimes the situations experienced limit ones ability to pull together the strengths needed to overcome the difficulties. For that reason, I operate from a strengths perspective and take a person centered approach to therapy. This essentially means with an unconditional positive regard, empathetic understanding, and genuine space —you feel heard | accepted | not judged and in control of the change you’re seeking. I serve as a guide in meeting you where you are and walking with you through this journey. I call on other theoretical orientations like cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance therapy, attachment theory, trauma informed, and interpersonal therapy.

Are my sessions confidential?

All of our sessions are considered confidential. It’s important to note that if you share that you are thinking of harming yourself or someone else, as a licensed professional, I am mandated by law to disclose this information to the appropriate agency. As a licensed professional, it is also mandated by law that I report any knowledge of a client abusing, neglecting, or exploiting a child, elder, disabled, or vulnerable population.

Where are sessions located & what is your availability?

Through a secure HIPPA compliant platform, all sessions provided by Southeast Perinatal Counseling are virtual. This means you’re able to get the help you need from the comfort of your home. You’re able to schedule, have your sessions, chat, pay, and get access to additional resources without having to commute. I’m currently accepting clients Monday-Wednesday 6pm-8pm and Saturday-Sunday 8am-5pm.

What services do you provide?

Psychotherapy sessions (individual and couples) and breastfeeding sessions are available to clients. Should you be interested in breastfeeding support, please book a consultation to determine how Southeast Perinatal Counseling can best help you as it is a separate cost.
